Getting Started with Blogger
I have chosen to use Blogger as my tool to start posting my upcoming blogs. Luckily, I was able to choose from a list of other tools, and I chose this one from the looks of simplicity. Getting my personal blog started up from this site was quite easy. First they ask you which email account you would like to use that will be attached to the blog, then they ask you to come up with the name for your blog. And then you can make your personalized web address. After this initial sign on process, all of the creativity in the world is at your fingertips.
When navigating, and getting familiar with the layout of the site, I started to get a bit confused. I thought what I was seeing on my screen was what my blog was going to look like, but I was fortunately wrong. What I saw was the page that I edit my separate link which is your actual blog. I wanted to ensure that I wouldn't move things around incorrectly or editing things I wasn't aware of, so I decided to go where anyone goes for a tutorial. Youtube. It was a great help in understanding how to see my actual blog and see what changes I can make and were made.
It originally was tricky, because I wanted to make the layout first and get that settled, then continue to completing this post, but I wouldn't know what the layout would look like without a post up. The first thing I changed was the default layout and the background picture of the blog. I really like the variety of options it has, which made my job of making it personalized fun but difficult (i'm indecisive).
Then I was changing the layout I chose. First I changed the colors that I wanted like the header color, the body color, fonts, and font colors. I like how it looks as of right now, but knowing me, as I get more posts up and see the vision come together, I might make more edits.
I believe blogging is a great step in sharing your experiences and ideas, which ultimately showcase your knowledge and skills on whatever you are blogging about. This will help in a professional setting because it is living proof of what you know, and it could be a tool you can utilize in a job interview. If anything, becoming a spokes person on what you blog about, could get you a lot of traction in the social media world. I think that blogging has many uses, and all of them can lead you to more success.
